This week's sponsor class has been created for you by Julie of Scrapbooking Castle. A kit is available for the class on the website. Julie is a great fan of multi photo layouts and loves having hidden places on her layouts for more photos or journaling. This double layout combines the two. The pages work just as well as two single layouts. Julie has chosen the papers in the kit for their ability to work well with many different themes so don’t think you have to find some wedding photos to scrap. Have fun with whatever combination and theme you choose.

Hi there and welcome to the July 2008 Photo Competition, this is the last month for Ribbon Oasis to host the competition, it has been fun and we hope you have enjoyed the themes we have set. There will be a lovely Ribbon prize for the winner.
With the sun getting high up in the sky and hopefully some long sunny days ahead of us I thought that a good theme for July would be to focus on the dark that light from certain angles can give us so this months theme is ....... SHADOWS / SILHOUETTES we hope you enjoy finding the shadows or creating some great silhouettes this month |

Love the "up close" photo - what a charmer! - and the colours. So vibrant, and loads of interesting details without being cluttered. The title letters are cute and the pen stitching is a perfect touch, and the flag banner is so well done it all comes together beautifully. Well worth a closer look!

This is a nice outline font (the download is at the right of the screen as Pruspic Openface), with some fun serifs. it would look very cute printed on coloured card, or patterned paper, then cut out (sort of like the sample here ) but I can think of many other cute ways to use it. Def. one to play around with! |

I've been seeing these in a few places and love how they look made from scrapbook papers. Might be a fun summer project for the kids!
Step-by-step with photos Also good, with a slightly different shape demonstrated by adding an extra fold Multi-layer paper lantern (with vellum layer) Making simple paper lanterns (with image) Text only instructions for Box and Clylinder lanterns Folded lanterns - making a grid of creases to create a very 3D sort of lantern (with good illustrations) Very pretty folded paper lantern - actually designed to be used over a lightbulb (and do note the safety considerations!) Quite complicated instructions for a Star Lantern on Expert Village which uses waxed paper (this is in multiple parts - Hopefully the link will show all the parts!) Pleated round paper lanterns (like those seen on St Martin 's day) PDF to download for square lantern - this requires popsicle sticks, glue and tissue paper - interesting, but probably not best suited to scrapbooking supplies! And the download screen is one with advertising pop-ups so be careful what you click! |
